White Water in Branson vs. Ocean's of Fun in Kansas City for Family Fun
If you are considering going to a water park and you are pondering whether you should go to White Water or Oceans of Fun, read this before you decide. In my decision making process I considered area, price and family fun. I have been to both and hands down my family and I like White Water much more than we did Oceans of Fun. Although Oceans of Fun is much bigger and laid out more than White Water there is less down time at White Water. The times I have gone to Oceans of Fun, my family and I have spent more time waiting in lines. In some cases we would wait 20-30 minutes in line only to find out that my 9 year old son was a millimeter to small to go down the slide. At White Water, my 18 month old daughter went down 6 different big slides with specially designed tubes. Something she would not have been able to do at Oceans of Fun. Last year my 9 year old son had difficulties going down some of the slides. The wave pool at White Water was enjoyable, the staff was fun and the food lines were short and reasonably priced. Oh yes and how can I forget the two best things at White Water. The six lane speed slides. Two lanes start somewhere in the clouds and basically come straight down. There is no time to scream because you are moving so fast. The other four lanes start out approximately 20’ lower and you go more at a 45 degree angle. My sons went down the slides over 30 times and we only let them spend a ¼ of the time on the slides. The last time we were at Oceans of Fun we went down 4 slides in 90 minutes.
If you are considering White Water, go to a ticket broker. We negotiated our $45 two day pass down to $30. It was kind of nice to split up our time over 2 days versus staying at White Water for 10 hours straight
